I feel numb on anti depressant: What to do about this

I feel numb on anti depressants is what one of our many readers wrote today, feeling numbness on the drugs is one of the unfortunate side effects of medications. Medications for depression are necessary for millions of people worldwide, it is the way many of us make it through our day. Depression has been rising worldwide, it is the most common mental illness, seeking the best way to treat the condition is the dilemma that many find themselves in.  “ I feel numb on anti depressants” it is becoming a very common phrase for millions.

The incredible rise in depression worldwide

In Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States there has been a dramatic rise in the numbers of people suffering from clinical depression, one of the most startling statistics shows that it is children who are fast becoming afflicted with mental illness. The situation is very alarming in the UK, 1 in 10 youngsters aged between 5 and 16,suffered a clinically diagnosable mental health problem such as depression. The situation is getting worst in the UK and USA, the prescribing of anti depressants to children has become more common as mental health workers seek a solution to the growing problem. “I feel numb on antidepressants” numbness is one of the side effects of drugs for a depressed mental condition, the pills help you get through the day but can numb the emotions..

Going beyond drugs

It is crucial that those who take their medications learn to go beyond the drugs, we do not advocate stopping medications, this is something that must be discussed with your doctor. There is a movement to take charge of depression and not rely on the medication alone. The “I feel numb feeling" on antidepressants does not mean stop them but go beyond the medication. There is a new technique that has been helping many people in an amazing way. It is a new approach discovered by a filmmaker that has been having great success with depression thoughts, it involves no doctors, and no therapy, actually the depressed person heals alone. You are filled back up, replacing what is missing and what is causing the depression. You heal yourself alone and this depression self help is very effective. It is an inside-out treatment that has been helping teens and adults.  See Here Depression without medication

Is it depression? Why men are often mistreated

Is it really depression? One of the main reasons men are often misdiagnosed or not diagnosed with the illness is due to the fact that we in society as well as the mental health field live with stereotypes.. The doctor who is treating the patient may also bring in their own prejudices, this is actually quite normal, doctors are not immune from society, they are just as influenced by stereotypes as in any other field. Are we missing the signs? Is it depression? When it comes to gender we may be miss the signs.

Anger or Depressed?

Men who are suffering from clinical depression are often advised to attend management classes, the reason for this is because men who are depressed may exhibit fits of anger. This anger could range from irritability, sensitivity to criticism, or a loss of your sense of humor to road rage, a short temper, or even violence. Some men become abusive, controlling, verbally or physically abusive to wives, children, or other loved ones. Addressing depression is not to down play anger management, many of these men need classes to learn how to handle the anger but often the diagnoses of being “depressed” is missed. There is never an excuse to live with a violent person, they may need help but you must be careful not put yourself at risk. Is it depression? This is a question that must be asked.

Many men find depression to be a female's illness, to admit to being depressed may not seem manly. Many males are also not comfortable taking pills or getting in touch with deep issues that are causing their depressed mental state. There are many males who suffer but are unable or are unwilling to get help, males may be more comfortable treating anger than admitting to being depressed. The usual course of action for depression is anti depressant drugs, this can be of great help but many are not content to live on these medications. These issues must be discussed with your doctor. Regardless of the course you choose it is important that a depressed condition be treated

Living with Depression can trigger a heart attack

One of the most under reported statistic shows that living with depression can trigger a heart attack. There is a very strong connection between the heart and your mental health. Some believe that it is actually the anti depressants which cause coronary troubles, this may be true but regardless of the pills living with depression can trigger a heart attack. If you are depressed there are physical ailments that can manifest. It is important to treat a depressive condition.

How the heart is effected

A study performed by Dr. Curt D. Furberg of Wake Forest University found that in 4,500 elderly participants with no history of heart disease, those who showed signs of depression had a 40 percent higher risk of developing coronary disease. The exact reason for the effect is not clear but there are millions who live depressed lives and are not receiving any type of treatment, it is extremely important to treat this condition. The largest increases in people depressed according to health officials are middle aged woman, senior citizens and young children. The reasons for the increase vary but the crisis is growing, living with depression is a growing problem for many people.

More heart troubles

A separate study in Baltimore, Maryland., found that depressed people of all ages are four times more likely to have a heart attack over the next 14 years following the study. This is very scary statistics and it makes it very clear that those who do live depressed most get treated. Doctors believe the rise in heart troubles after been depressed stem from people feeling slowed down but still have high levels of stress hormones and his can increase the work load on the heart. As high levels of stress hormones are signaling “stress”, the body's metabolism is diverted away from the type of tissue repair needed in heart disease.

There are millions of people who have a hard time making it through the day, they are living with depression and it is is ruining lives. It is important to get treatment for a clinically depressed condition, do not go another day living with depression.

Can you reverse depression? What you need to know

Can you reverse depression was the latest comment we received from a 17 year old girl who has lived with a major depressive mental condition over the last 2 years. The rise in mental illness in children, teens and adults was documented by the NHS in England. The uses of psychiatric medications have increased by 300% in the last 20 years. Can you reverse depression is become a very common question. We are seeing an alarming increase the numbers of people who are living with a depressive condition.

The emotional breakdown

In a world increasingly filled with technology and medical advances there is still a major problem on the inside, there is a growing dissatisfaction in the lives of many people. The numbers of people suffering from mental illness is increasing. According to Professor Mark Ellenbogen, of Concordia University, Montreal, said: "Major depressions have become one of the most pressing health issues in both developing and developed countries." He states that the stresses in our modern world is a major contributor. Can you reverse depression? Is a question asked by many.

The increase in anti depressants

I'm Depressed, what can I do about it

I'm depressed: Researchers say they have found a link between internet addiction and depression. They state that the time spent on the internet is directly related to a depressed state of mind. The rates of people suffering from a clinical depression condition has increased very much in the last 10 years. The illness is growing largely in the United States and Europe. “I'm Depressed” has become a common complain by millions of people and the numbers are growing.

Does the internet contribute to depression

Researchers at Swannsea and Milan University studied people and their internet habits, the researchers concluded that there was a correlation between time spent on the internet and depression.

“Although we do not know exactly what Internet addiction is, our results show that around half of the young people we studied spend so much time on the net that it has negative consequences for the rest of their lives.”
“These initial results, and related studies of brain function, suggest that there are some nasty surprises lurking on the net for people’s wellbeing.

I'm Depressed: The internet?

Depression is very complex and we do not agree at all with this study, what we have found in our own research is that what people are searching or surfing for online can cause more depression than how much time is spent on the internet. What we have seen is that pornography, dating or certain music sites can lead to depression. After research we found that those who watched the most pornography or listened to heavy metal music had more depression after a period of time. The reason for this seems to stem from pornography or certain music leads to more anti social behavior. Amongst pornography watchers “I'm depressed” was a growing complaint.

What to do about depression and sadness

What to do about depression is a question many people deal with each day. This is a debilitating illness that can take much of life's joy. There are millions of people worldwide who suffer with the devastating pain and sadness that comes with the illness, studies show that the numbers of people who are living depressed are increasing. What to do about depression is one of the most important questions you can ask if you are living with the condition.

The condition that can stop your life

When left untreated being depressed can stop you from living, the daily sadness can effect your social and work life. There are many who find it hard to go to work, they do not have the drive our energy to continue. The feeling is often one of hopelessness and despair but the situation is not hopeless. Clinical depression is a very serious condition that can change the brain. Brain imaging shows that the depressed brain is not the same as a person who is not clinically depressed. What to so about depression is a very important question, the answer is that the illness should not be left untreated. Medications are what the majority of people resort to when depressed, this can be a good thing, there are millions who could not make it with their medications.

There are also side effects that come with anti depressants and this also must be dealt with. The anti depressants side effects can range from heavy weight gain to suicidal tendencies. It is important to realize that pills should not be the last resort, you may remain on medications but you can still go beyond pills to a fuller life. When the healing begins from the inside you will go beyond medications to a higher level of healing. What to do about depression? Go beyond medications and heal.
