Depression without medication: Going beyond Pills

Is it possible to treat depression without medication? There are ways to handle this very debilitating illness drug free but one should proceed with caution. The numbers of people suffering from the illness is growing very rapidly in the United States, Europe and Asia, more than 28 million Americans are on anti depressants. The most common reason for treating depression without medication is due to the fact that there are many uncomfortable side effects that come with the drug use, this can include numbness, dizziness, anger and mood swings.

Anti depressants

Anti depressants are a necessity for millions of people worldwide , there are literally millions who could not function or manage their day without anti depressants. The numbers of Americans that are on anti depressive medications are growing and the patients are starting younger, there has been a 10% increase in antidepressant uses in college students over the last decade. There are also increasing numbers of people who are trying to combat their depression without medication, the reason for this is due to the fact that the drugs can come with some very troubling side effects. Recently discussed side effects are increased appetite obesity and increased risk of diabetes on a certain class of antidepressants.

Coming of drugs

Never stop taking anti depressants on your own, speak with your doctor before stopping the drugs. There are other techniques that can be used to treat the illness while coming off of the drugs, the major problem with drugs is that there is no inner healing, the drug only covers a deeper emotional problem. There is the inside/out technique that is being used in over 10 countries, a depressed person may feel empty and the technique helps a person fill up emotionally. You heal alone without doctors, drugs or therapy, recently people have been using the technique with their medication or to stop medications. Do not stop medications without speaking to your doctor but do not make drugs the last step in your healing.

It is an inside-out treatment that has been helping teens and adults.  See Here Depression without medication
